How to avoid becoming a victim of fraud?

Everything starts with a simple and kind "Hello",

which makes you forget that:

You should never disclose your card details, such as:

  • one-time 𝟯𝗗 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 or 𝗩𝗕𝗩 password,
  • card number,
  • 𝗣𝗜𝗡-code,
  • bank password,
  • 𝗖𝗩𝗩/𝗖𝗩𝗖 numbers (there are also three or four-digit 𝗖𝗩𝗩/𝗖𝗩𝗖 numbers on the front or back of your payment card),
  • card expiry date.

You should never send your card data by SMS, e-mail or in any other way.

You should never send or post an image of your card or other card data on social networks and messengers.

Remember: The security of your card depends on precautions taken by you.

In conducting bank transactions, keeping the PIN code and bank password confidential is especially important.

➖ The PIN-code is basically used for online payments. It is recommended to cover it with a sticky tape, since a scammer having access to this code and card number, can steal your money without your knowing.

➖ The PIN-code is used when withdrawing money from an ATM, making payments through POS-terminal.

➖ At Evocabank, you personally generate your preferred PIN-code in a modern and secure way when activating your card at an ATM.

➖ Your 𝗣𝗜𝗡-code is not known even to bank employees. Your bank password is typically used by bank employees for your remote identification.

➖ Be careful when entering your PIN–code so that no one sees your code and subsequently uses it to steal your money. You can use your other hand to cover the ATM keyboard as you enter your PIN into the ATM.

➖ Also, avoid writing the PIN-code on the card, or in your phone, or in other places accessible to third parties.

➖ Today, many cards use PayWave or PayPass technology, which allows the cardholder  to  tap or hover your card on or over the POS-terminal’s sensor and make contactless payment without entering the PIN-code for payments up to AMD 20,000 or foreign currency equivalent.

Be vigilant and do not leave such cards unattended.

It is also recommended to keep money in non-card accounts. If necessary, you can transfer money to your card in a few minutes using the EvocaTOUCH app.

Evocabank card transactions are protected by 3D Secure and VBV systems.
